Gate Motors And Gate
Automation
Gate motors and
automation are no longer looked at as a luxury but a
necessity in these modern times.
Gone are the days of
slow operating gate motors which were bulky, had no
battery backup and were expensive to install, maintain and
service.
Times have changed,
great improvements and advancements in gate automation
equipment has been made with one of the most important being
battery back up as standard,
Most gate motor brands we install come with battery back up
as standard.
Traction Security choose to
install only the leading brands of gate automation motors
among which our most popular include the Centurion D3, D5,D5
Evo and D10 series range and the Hansa Speedo, Deluxe 1 & 2
and Hansamatic models.
Our gate automation range
of sliding gate automation openers will be sure to provide
you with reliability and ease of operation.

We also install Dace, ET,
BFT and DTS Gate motors.
Which Gate Automation
Brand Should I Choose?
Careful attention must be
paid when choosing the correct brand of gate automation
motor. Choosing a quality brand name will ensure you have
total peace of mind with regard to operational reliability
as well as access to spare parts should your motor ever
require any servicing.
Our Gate Motor
Installation Standards.
1. AC VS DC Powered Motors
We prefer to install DC
powered as opposed to AC power driven motors as DC motors
have a much higher starting torque which allows the motor to
overcome the initial force of getting the gate moving when
activated.
2. Concrete Mounted VS Steel
Mounted Base Plates.
In Most
cases we prefer to install a steel base plate as a mounting
for our gate motors as opposed to concrete ones, This
ensures once the motor has been welded to the base plate it
will never work itself loose over the years the motor
provides it service.
Steel
base plates also allow us to complete your installation more
efficiently as we don't have to wait for the concrete to
set, this allows us to complete your installation timeously
and prevents any further inconvenience to you the customer
for example waiting for the concrete to dry before using the
gate .
3. Nylon VS Steel Pinion Gear.
This depends solely on the type of gate
and more importantly the weight of the gate.
Gates which are below
300kgs in weight will be fitted with either a nylon or steel
drive gear, any gate that weighs above 300kgs will only be
fitted with a steel drive gear solely for the reason of
durability and operating reliability .
4. Fixed
Code Vs Rolling Code Remotes.
Over the recent years we have seen a shift
in the use of fixed code user remotes to that of code
rolling remotes. In most cases we prefer to use rolling code
remotes as these are more difficult to clone and provide a
much higher security barrier to that of remote control
cloning equipment.
